After experiencing some writers block (I HATE WRITERS BLOCK) I've added another character and immediately wrote their death! Yes, I'm getting excited about writing someone's death, but it's exciting that I'm making progress in my treatment!
Look for more info coming soon!
I've been kicking around the idea of writing a movie for a long time, I've come up with some interesting ideas and have decided to actually write the thing! The title's "Woodlands", keep an eye out for updates!

Character Descriptions
Names
Characters as written in treatment: Drivers 1 & 2, Females 1, 2, 3, & 4 Guys 1, 2, & 3, & Fat guy
All characters are referencing other horror or comedy films I find enjoyable, some are obvious (eg Nancy Thompson, Erik Destler, & Ashley Williams come from "A Nightmare on Elm Street", "The Phantom of the Opera", & "The Evil Dead" respectively) some are amalgamations of other characters (Ron Weyland shares the same last name as Charles Weyland of "AVP" and eventual "Alien" fame)
Driver 1 (Shaun Todd): Main antagonist of our tale, more or less. First victim of the evil, but returns to hunt and kill his companions, expires in the last act and the evil that possesses him returns to the woods it came from.
Driver 2 (Scott Monroe): Dies shortly after being introduced
Female 1 (Dana Skinner):
Female 2 (Ashley Williams):
Female 3 (Bethany Raine):
Female 4 (Nancy Thompson): Ditzy, always needs help with everything. Gets torn in half around a tree.
Guy 1 (Erik Destler): Our hero, more or less. Is among the first victims of the evil, only to resurface in the last act, and shortly thereafter expire.
Guy 2 (Ron Weyland):
Guy 3 (Al Neumann):
Ed Keillor (Fat Guy): Somewhat comic relief, until he disappears mysteriously. Resurfaces in final act only to be killed by mistake.
Woodlands
For a while now I've been wanting to make a movie. My sister, Beth, and I have been throwing ideas back and forth for years. But out of those ideas we threw around we've come up with a basic outline for the movie. I'm not sure about her opinion on it, but the working title I've been using is "Woodlands". Odds are that'll change in the coming weeks/months. The story is heavily influenced by The Evil Dead, and Dead Snow and probably movies I don't even realize I'm ripping off!
"Cut to: Erik (Guy #1) as he grows more and more paranoid and frightened, suddenly he hears a crack nearby. He whips around to see nothing, suddenly another crack. This time behind him! He’s turning back and forth terrified, “F*ck it!” He runs away from the sounds emanating from the darkness around him. He hopes to find his way back to the camp but is running blindly through the woods. He nearly runs into a tree, sidestepping that he then falls down a steep embankment. The camera tumbling with him. Suddenly he jolts to a stop, a strange look crosses his face. He coughs once, twice, on the third blood comes to his lips. He glances down, camera pans down to a snapped off tree branch impaling him. He coughs a few more times, spits and tries to pull himself off the branch. Rather than pull himself off, it snaps near where it is entering his body. He takes two shuffling steps before falling to his knees and slides the rest of the way down the hill into a river. He halfheartedly tries to climb out of the water before slipping into the current. He floats away, facedown."
So, this is my first post here regarding "Woodlands", hopefully I'll be posting more snippets or the treatment, concept art, production photos, and eventually a trailer! But don't expect most of those anytime soon!
